Top 10 Vista Tweaks and Tips

I’ve been using Vista for a little over a year now. Vista has it’s ups and downs, or should I say the user experience has it’s ups and downs.

For the most part I like it and haven’t had too many issues getting the software I use or write working on it. One of the things that has annoyed me of late is the user acceptance of every little thing. I managed to last a year without it bothering me too much, but of late it’s really been getting my goat.

I searched online and found a few ways of turning it off, it’s really just a setting under the user settings.

Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts. At the bottom of the page is “Turn User Account Control on or off”. Simply click on that and uncheck “Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer.”

I found that tip and 9 others at the following old page. http://archive.laptopmag.com/Features/Top-Ten-Windows-Vista-Tweaks-and-Shortcuts.htm

Hope it helps

Shane
